CBR training for dependents of Leprosy affected, 2 - 5 Oct 2012

The social participation of persons affected by leprosy is much more distressing to them than their individual effects. It impairs their quality of life in various ways. Their community interaction is affected, such as social relationships and friendships. Their families may experience reduced educational opportunities, leading to further inequities between those affected and those who are not. All of these negative effects result from poor community knowledge of the disease and the misconceptions held about them. More...

Sunday was much awaited “Race Day” began in traces along the route to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Workshop on “Decentralised Planning, Monitoring & Supervision”,  21 - 24 Sept 2012
This workshop was organized by State Leprosy Officer of West Bengal, on 22
nd ,23rd & 24th August 2012  at a place named Digha about 200 Km. away from Kolkata, in East Midinapur district of West Bengal, which is located on sea shore. This workshop was planned for 2 days on Decentralized planning but SLO of West Bengal requested to include Monitoring and supervision also in this workshop. More...

Aman, Apekshit Solanki, Tulsi Jain, students from IIT and Apeksha,  CA finalist visited NLR office and NLR projects in the field from 4 - 27 June 2012. They visited some of the coloneis in Delhi and Dehradun to get to know the life of leprosy affected people in leprosy coloneis. More..

NLR Staff updating and review meeting, 1-2 June 2012
Meeting of all NLR staff was held on 1-2 June 2012 at Delhi to review the progress of activities in first quarter of year 2012 and to update the knowledge & skill of staff member to perform better. Team from each of 6 states presented the status of implementation of planned activities. CME sessions were conducted and Staff was made aware about recent developments and actions to be taken accordingly. More …..


NLR’s Holi celebrations 8 March 2012
'ASHA DAN' Leprosy Colony in Bokaro is getting support from NLR India in the form of development of "Self Care Groups" to reduce disabilities, providing basic amenities and education of children. A visit to that colony on 7th March 2012 by NLR teams revealed the results of support provided. Girls from colony presented welcome song and dance. Enthusiasm, affinity, trust and hopes reflected during interaction was stimulation for all to proceed further. Inhabitants desired to play Holy-colors with team members. More...
