NLR India organized the 19th National Task Force (NTF) Meeting (in -person) of the Research Study titled “PEP++ Stop transmission of leprosy” on the 12th June 2024 in New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Dr. Anil Kumar, Principal Advisor, National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Govt. of India cum Principal Investigator (PI) of the Study. The meeting was participated by NTF members namely Dr. Jugal Kishore, Director/Prof. Dept. of Community Medicine, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi cum PI, Sudarsan Mandal, Sr. Chief Medical Officer, Govt. of India cum Co-PI, Dr. H.K. Kar, Prof. /HoD, Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy (DVL), Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Odisha cum Co-PI, Dr. Jaya Dehalvi, State Leprosy Officer (SLO), Uttar Pradesh cum Co-PI, Dr Ashok Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NLR India cum Co-PI and Dr. Suchitra Lisam, Head, Research & Knowledge Management, NLR India and Co-Investigator of the Study. NLR India’s project staff namely Dr Danish Suhail, Project Coordinator & NTF convenor and Akshat Garg, GIS Manager attended the meeting and presented trial progress updates for review and recommendation from the study investigators. The study team also took stock of the upcoming plans i.e. blanket trial and the q Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test etc.
