NLR International Office (IO) Team, the Netherlands visited India in the period from 3rd -11th August 2023.
Lalita Kumari lives with her parents under Kadmadih village under Panchayat Purbi Barkagaon in Barkagaon block . She is a secretary of Kadmadih Divyang Swayam Sahayata Samuha, due to her strong desire to do something for her parents and not to depend on mercies of others make her live an independent life.
He is thankful to NLR India Foundation for encouraging the community to organize Self-help Group of persons with disabilities as well as persons affected by leprosy.
She is a locomotor ( polio affected) adolescent girl now she is 21 years old , She was interested to open the newly shop where smoking items, betel, surf shampoo, Colgate, other essential daily items such as chocolates, biscuits and small bakery items.
Through our facilitation the group members considered her need and recommended from their group as a seed capital from the group of Rs.5000/- as a refundable loan so that She can open the shop and may be refunded her loan amount within the time frame .
By investing loan in her small shop at present She earns a good living of Rs. 300-400 /- per day. The initiation of SHGs by NLR in his village has changed the lives of many such persons.
